Our bone metabolism panel examines the parameters of bone building and bone breakdown, we can find out which process is currently dominant in our body. We recommend performing this test in case of frequent bone fractures, intense sports, peri-menopause, or suspected osteoporosis.

The bone metabolism panel includes:
- the current state of the hematopoietic system: blood count, iron, transferrin
- kidney function parameters: urea, uric acid, creatinine, total, direct bilirubin
- the function of liver enzymes: GOT, GPT, Gamma-GT, alkaline phosphatase, LDH
- information on the functioning of the cardiovascular system: cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, LDL
- fasting sugar concentration: blood sugar
- amount of intra- and extra-cellular ions: sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, magnesium
- extended examination of urine: complete urine + sediment, urine calcium and phosphate
- Vitamin D
- the body’s phosphorus level, which helps in the detection of bone and endocrine diseases: Inorganic phosphate
- examination of bone breakdown processes: Beta-crosslaps
- examination of key hormones: PTH Parathormone, calcitonin, osteocalcin
Things to do before sampling
The test must be performed on an empty stomach, which means that it is not recommended to eat in the 12 hours before the blood test. Drinking water is allowed.
